Recently beauty and fashion photographer Juan Chu has found models Andrea Talamantes, Valeria López, Kristine Skaiste through modelmanagement.com who became a part of his series of summer photo shoots. The photographer´s work was published in such magazines as Period, Scorpion Jin, HUF Magazine, Sheeba Fashion Magazine and Pump Fashion Lifestyle Magazine.
We’ve decided to ask Juan how the photo shoots went and what the inspiration behind his incredible work was.
Modelmanagement: Hi Juan, thank you for letting us know a bit more about you and your recent photo shoots. To begin with, when did you start photography as a professional career? And how would you describe your style?
Juan Chu: Hello, I became interested in photography in 2015, after self-educating myself and participating in different workshops with great professionals, I took the decision to start photography professionally 1 year ago.The style of photography that I like the most is fashion, which gives me the opportunity to create editorials for fashion.
MM: Recently you made the series of 3 photo shoots with the models found through modelmanagement.com. What was the theme of the photo shoots?
JC: I have worked with models found through modelmanagement.com shooting bikinis and haute couture editorials.
MM: What inspired you to create these series?
JC: My inspiration to create fashion editorials comes from window displays and advertising where I see the trends of the season, after that I start looking for the place for the shoot, along with all my team.
MM: Your works has been published in several magazines. How important is it for photographers to be recognized by the industry professionals?
JC: Every month my works is published in different magazines of the world, having my works published together with my team is very satisfying to me knowing that I pass different approval standards of different magazines, apart from being contacted by designers and stylists of the fashion world to do paid work.
MM: How easy is it to find models in the fashion photography industry?
JC: Modelmanagement.com makes it easier to find professional models, I have worked with other web pages but the models signed up there are not as professional as the ones I found through this community.
MM: Our castings team helped you find the right models for your projects, how did you know that Andrea Talamantes, Valeria López and Kristine Skaiste were the right fit in the photo shoots that you were planning to do?
JC: The models found through modelmanagement.com are very professional, they were perfect at acting and the presence that I was looking for, as a result the images of the shoots were published in the different editorials.
MM: How important is it to connect with models during the photo shoot? Are there any specific techniques you use to communicate your ideas to them?
JC: Usually when I work with professional models I do not have to say much, I always show models examples of the poses I want them to do, or results that I want to reach according to what the styling of the editorial requires.
MM: What are some tips you would give to those looking for models through modelmanagement.com?
JC: My advice for those who are looking for professional models is to start with having a clear vision of the work that is going to be done. MM: What are your future professional aspirations? Are you planning to pursue your career in the fashion photography?
JC: I am currently studying Fashion Film, which I want to take more seriously with time, but nevertheless I am planning to continue doing fashion photography.
